Humanoido at SPACE1 Industries has invented a self healing rocket skin
Throughout rocket flights, the rocket skin undergoes enormous stress. For example, at MAXQ, or maximum aerodynamic pressure, the rocket body must withstand the highest pressure stresses and be able to recover.
At other times, the orientation of the rocket, the start and stop of the rocket engine, and other conditions put tremendous force on the rocket's exterior.
Tests are being conducted at SPACE1 Industries on Humanoido's latest space invention, molecular self healing rocket skin, coined as Healer Skin. Healer Skin is composed of molecular structure that can take multitude of different stress types up to a limiting point and recover. This includes skin healing for over inflation, under inflation, bending, shearing, stressing, spot pressure, applying Young's Modulus over time, folding, and microscopic or nano minute wounds.
