Space1 Snail Talker

Aquatics Space Program
Humanoido Develops Snail Language & Snail Talker
"It was not a piece of cake." After much study and deliberation, Humanoido has developed a way to communicate with Red Ramshorn Snails. The concatenated five inventions are needed: the Snail Environment Speech Conductor SESC and Snail Speech Detector SSD and Electronic Snail Translator EST and Snail English Converter SET and Lexicon Machine LM. The combined unit is known as the Snail Talker allowing the snail to talk.

The sum of the five inventions, devices, are completely non-invasive and no snails are harmed during the inventions development and testing. The calibration is performed with Apiaceae Apium Graveolens which allows for the induction of neuro-chemicals being sent to the snail brain that set the snail's reference frame into calibratory delta.

The SESC is activated and primed, the neuro chemical is released, the snail who will speak language is introduced, the Snail Translator allows the snail to initiate speech through propulsive annuities, as its native snail language. The Snail English Converter takes propulsive annuities and translates into referential meanings of English words and sentences.

In the final analysis, with the Lexicon Machine, English is translated into phonemes and allophones to develop electronic synthesized speech lexicons for human English understanding. This will allow snails to convey meanings and perform analysis and initiate functions on space missions on board rockets. It is also possible for snails to communicate with mission control using wireless rocket telemetry in English or Snail languages.

Snails talk within their own time reference frame, dramatically slower than human species, so getting a response to a question may have significant delay and take some time for the formant to be heard. It depends, a reply could take 5 minutes to one hour for the snail to answer.

The Codex for snail talk indicates an initial nine snail language sentences. However, such raw Codex is mixable, thus many more words and sentences can arise. These are made referential with conversions to English and derived space vocabulary. Snail Talker is species dependent and connects one unit to each snail. To have 10 snails talk, it will take ten Snail Talkers. The snail must wear the Snail Talker so it takes up some space inside the rocket during the mission.

With snails having the ability to talk and speak English, it will be possible to not only have snails as spacefaring tourists and passengers but also performing vital duties enrolled as members of the space flight crew and part of the aquatics space team.

Space1 A Talking Fish

For a limited time, a fish talking video is available upon request
SPACE1 put huge efforts into making a machine that interfaces fish to English speech. Fish are a species that may one day become astronauts for space faring ventures.

What about fish that can talk with no interface? Is that possible?

While browsing one day at an aquarium store, a very large fish in a tank of his own would otherwise be the same as all the other fish, however when walking by, he said something! Going back to do a double take, indeed this fish was talking and saying something to get a person's attention!

How is that possible? Upon closer examination, the large brain fish revealed a set of human-like qualities - a rather mouth, large lips, an articulating tongue, and a set of human-like teeth. There was no doubt the fish was capable of speech and was making communicative utterances.

But this is fish language and needs translation into English, left for another project. The short video clearly shows the fish communicating. Interspecies communication is not only extremely rare but very important to science. We applaud his amazing efforts and talent. What was he saying? Was he being friendly looking for new owner? Perhaps he was lonely, wanted to do some friendly chat, make friends or just get out of that confining aquarium.

Space1 Fish Astronauts

Fish Cam captures a very inquisitive C fish
Space1 Develops a New Breed of Space Fish
Meet Rocket Fish - the next intelligent cyber species being prepped for space travel by Space1.

The exciting new primary SPACE1 project in November of 2018 that everyone is talking about is a new breed of intelligent talking cyber space fish species being groomed for rocket travel into space.

Introduction
In the beginning, Humanoido, the founder of Space1, set up an aquarium with all the trimmings to include eleven native South Asian Carinotetraodon (C) fish. The "C" fish were selected for their diminutive size, high intelligence, and fast learning ability - traits highly desired for becoming astronauts of space travel.

Setup
The radial experiment continued with an extremely small Nano Tank of dimensions 20x13x16 cm with a 5mm glass thickness. The unique aquarium needed many common components as well - LED lighting, HOB filter, extra filter material, electric heater, thermometer, power strip, radical new soil pellets, two plant varieties, fish, net, food, tank starter liquid biofilter purification bacteria, frozen food and chlorine-free bottled water.

Intelligent Fish Species
Normally humans don't think much about fish as being an intelligent species. Space1 has changed that. Fish have sophisticated brains, can communicate, are highly intelligent, can learn new things, are inquisitive about the world, and make excellent companions. Meat eating South Asian Carinotetraodon (C) fish are among the brightest with a high fish IQ (FIQ).

Fish Cam
A fish cam can record the habits and life of fish, both with stills and video. It can also be used for remote monitoring, examining fish health, and provide a magnification to increase visibility of tiny fish and small fry. The fish cam was created from an old discarded Logitech computer cam. Connected to the USB port and the front of the tank with Scotch 3M duct tape, the cam's twist lens was set to nearest focus. Next, Macam software was installed under Mac OSX and parameters were set to the Logitech cam's auto mode. The software allows a moveable live feed computer window for viewing fish and can take still photos. To capture video directly from the screen window, the native features of the Mac are used with Apple QuickTime.

Talking Fish
A device was invented to give fish the ability to talk in English. Coined Fish Small Talk or code name Fish Talk, the cyborg fish addition adds hardware and software to a fish along with the proper codex lexicon. The device connects to the fish non-invasively using several fields of high technology and allows the fish to speak its moods, interests, habits, etc. New versions of the software increase the lexicon words and speaking abilities, add the ability for multiple fish to talk, and give fish the ability to report data on their environment.

Fish Cyborg
Connecting cyborg parts non-invasively to fish is very important as fish are very small and implants are comparatively very large. For the smallest fish, the non-invasive connection is made optically and electronically with sensors, governed by a microcomputer and software. Cyborg fish are enhanced versions of normal fish and appear to have super powers, able to learn new commands, talk, and perhaps pilot a star ship someday. They can report data and information during space flight and become valuable crew members.

Training
Eleven Talking Cyborg Fish were entered into the Astronaut Fish Training Program, and are in training. After only 3 days, schooled fish have acclimatized and learned their first in-flight command.

Fish Astronauts
With their cyborg enhancements and astronaut training, plus customized space gear, space rocket fish are like small super heros, able to wear a special environmental space suit, record space data, withstand the rigors of space travel, and talk in English to mission control.

Space Testing
Astronaut cyborg space fish need to undergo lots more testing to be viable denizens of space travel, to include weightlessness, g-forces, rocket vibrations, more cyborg devices, commands, larger speaking lexicons, and the elements of lift off and recovery. Testing has begun for the creation of a portable water flight spacesuit for fish to take along their environment in space for breathing oxygenated purified water and allowing vision and mobility.

Space1 Fish Small Talk Upgrade 3.0

Fish: ahem, testing testing testing..
Fish Small Talk 3.0 (multiple fish)
For the first time, all the fish in your aquarium can talk!

Thanks to Humanoido, founder of Space1, for giving fish the ability to talk. He has written code for a new upgrade to Fish Small Talk.

This is a direct beta software upgrade from Fish Small Talk 1.0 using the same interface. Fish Small Talk 3 gives the power of speech to all fish living in the same aquarium and gives each one a unique voice.

This fantastic upgrade adds a software algorithm of mathematical expression to look at an array of binary inputs and determine if more than one bit code is active-on. It then determines the simultaneity representation for multiple fish and allows the appropriate speech for each fish, each taking their turn for talk in FIFO, and each with a different unique voice to identify the fish. Space1 intends to take talking cyborg fish astronauts on spacefaring journeys.

Space1 Fish Small Talk 2.0

Code helps give fish the power of small talk
Talking Fish are Here! Fish Small Talk 2.0
The Fish Small Talk 2.0 software package uses the same hardware and has an additional lexicon vocabulary and a randomized speech generator engine for spontaneous fish talk. Fish can now engage in more talk with a more spontaneous demeanor.

The software beta version addition adds approximately twenty sentences and over fifty-five words allowing fish to randomly speak without sensors on a variety of subjects. Sometimes the talk is just underwater sound and gibberish and other times the fish will convey emotions or surprising and useful information.

The lexicon module allows for fish speaking facts, questions, commands, statements, emotion, sounds and singing. The latter depends on the version of the speech board used in the interface. Board 1.0 does not permit singing however the upgraded board 2.0 is song capable. While singing fish is not exactly the objective of the spacefaring mission, it could introduce an element of calming and good mood during longer spaceflight.

Space1 Fish Cyborg Density Experiment

Humanoido, founder of Space1, is preparing to take cyborg fish into space.

New derived software and cyborg hardware will give spacefaring fish the power of speech.

Space fish must be efficient, fitting into the most compact water environment or water filled space suit. Therefore, fish density per unit water is the subject of this experiment.

Experimenting with Space Fish
Some books recommend a fish density of 2 to 3 average size fish per gallon of water. A US gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds which adds considerable rocket payload mass. The objective is to reduce this weight as much as possible while maintaining a good environment for the fish. However, there is a limit. In order to maximize the efficiency of water use, multiple smaller fish are kept per unit area. What is the ideal fish density in water?

The Fish Water Density Experiment was conducted to make determinations. In a tank with a size of 20x13x16 cm,  a maximum of eleven small fish are possible for long term habitation. This gives laterally, 11 fish in a 20cm stretch, each with a 1.8x13x16 cm dimension, or 374.3 cubic cm. This has proven to be totally sufficient per fish. Taking one fish into space will reduce the water and weight requirements. The experiments concludes that a space suit or space fish water environment (for one fish) less than 370 cubic cm will be sufficient.

Space1 Fish Small Talk 1.0

Left: happy fish with Fish Small Talk. Right: unhappy without
Fish Small Talk 1.0

Breaking News!

Humanoido, founder of Space1, has written a preliminary version of Fish Small Talk 1.0 software that gives underwater fish the power of English speech.

The current introductory beta version has a lexicon of 33 words and allows fish to speak their minds based on their potential thoughts and feelings while living underwater inside an aquarium. The system consists of software and a small hardware sensor array. The language is considered a precursor to English speaking fish that will become space faring denizens on board Space1 rockets.

Space1 Cyborg Fish Talk Language

A Carinotetraodon fish eager to talk
Cyborg Fish Language - Fish Can Talk!
Fish adapted for space travel with their bodies converted into Cyborg need a communications language to engage mission control during rocket launches and journeys into the great abyss of the Universe.

Developing fish language, unlike any other known language, is a unique challenge. Humanoido chose to create Fish Talk, a language using swim motion, resultant behavior, and verbal speech along with a DIY Cyborg Speech Interface. A full tank of Asian Carinotetraodon fish are now being trained for language communication.

Fish can both hear and make noises underwater. In the ocean, some fish communicate by vibrating their swim bladder. Other fish can make grunts, chirps and pop sounds. The language is usually for orientation, attracting a mate, and scaring off predators. Other fish are silent and do not make any noise. Asian Carinotetraodon fish appear silent and any sounds they make may be drowned out by the sound of a tank filter. The sound inside a rocket would certainly be louder than a tank filter. An underwater sound amplifier would pick up rocket sound transmitted through the medium. Another way of fish talk is needed.

Humanoido invented the cyborg fish communications interface consisting of an optical array capable of detecting various motion and placements. This in turn connects to a verbal speech center speaking translated motion into English words and expressions. Motion detector arrays that function based on infrared heat are not reliable through glass and water. However optical motion detectors work well by interpreting changes in lighting and/or a visible form through glass and clear water. Optical contrast backing implementation can improve the accuracy of simple imaging detectors made from low cost cadmium sulfide cells and lenses.

A learning curve takes place for both the cyborg fish and the human. Just as the behavior of fish will swim to one particular spot for feeding at the location of food, so too will fish language exhibit and convey similar behavior and intent. The fish cyborg language interface is a type of interpretive eye connected to a small computer and speech center. In the example, the return of a fish to the feeding center will audibly announce the fish voice speaking the intention to eat - "I am hungry, food please."
