Space1 Rocket Assembly

Space1 Industries announces the completion of it second rocket in the 2018 fleet. Since the successful reception of a primary international rocket parts order, the assembly of rockets has gone smoothly as planned. The second rocket is of the same design basics as the first USS Pioneer, with FAT embodiment design, the new most powerful thrust vectored S1 engine, and a new chemical liquid rocket fuel. The rockets, as seen in various photos, are flight worthy and being flown for testing data. However, they are not considered a finality as additional engineering will result - such as the install of crew cabin quarters, multiple flight computers, telemetry electronics, farings and new recovery designs. Parts exist for the construction of a third rocket spacecraft or can be used as backup and repair parts.

Space1 Chinese Rocket Construction Resumes

The Chinese rocket Stanton is a beam placed in position to support the rocket suspended in the air prior to launch. The beam is seen crossing the center of this photo, and holding up the rocket in the upwards air position on the launcher. Upon launch, the rocket is released and the entire weight (rocket + payload + fuel) forces the rocket to come crashing down to the launch pad base whereupon mechanical force from gravity and depression causes ignition activation and the rocket is launched. The Stanton is mechanically activated by physically removing it from the bottom rocket support plate, a process that occurs from a remote site to maintain safety from the powerful blast.

Resurrecting a Chinese Rocket
Space1 haulted the assembly of a Chinese rocket acquired from the Science Center due to some very strange valve and catchment designs not functioning as intended. After a week of work, it was decided to give the project a rest.

Suddenly an idea was put into place. If American thinking could not resolve the Chinese designed rocket valve issues, why not add a new perspective - one of Chinese origins? Space1 invited a Chinese thinking engineer to look over the situation. In a time frame of only 30 minutes, the valve and catchment were disassembled and reassembled, and worked flawlessly! Space1 gives full credit to its Chinese origins engineer for resolving the rocket issues.

It's good Space1 did not give up the ship as it's a real learning experience. The rocket uses the most unusual launch system Space1 has ever seen. Instead of ignition at the base of the launch pad and the rocket rising upwards, the upwards mounted rocket is held high in the air by a single launch pad Stanton, then released, and gravity causes all its weight to come crashing down on the base of the launch pad where mechanical means then activate the rocket sending it skyward.

Work is now progressing on the recovery system - the timer and parachute are completed and being installed into the rocket. Completed are the four missile nukes that reside connected to the bottom of the rocket. Each missile has one fin vane protruding in an orientation 90 degrees orthogonal to the rocket body.

Space1 China Rocket

Chinese Rocket Less than Stellar
When visiting a Chinese science center, a dismantled rocket was discovered. Having the good fortune of purchasing the rocket with a slight discount, it was returned to the lab where assembly ensued. 

Little did we realize the magnitude of complicated compounding anomalies that would incur over the first three day assembly work period. Work was halted over multiple problems with the fuel valve. Several factors led to its imminent failure - too small of a regulation orifice, dissimilar component materials leading to fuel interface joint failures, and the lack of including a specially created Chinese installation tool. Plus, the Chinese translator abandoned the project when seeing the number of highly specialized rocket and aerospace words and related terminology spread throughout the pages of assembly notes.

Attaching an American valve would simplify things however the two dissimilar materials problem would still remain. The fuel valve interface was of a polymer type and the valve was metal. Fatigue would ensue causing failure in both cases.

Next, it became apparent the rocket had no ability to self stabilize, either through gyro or mechanics, electronics or fins. This could be remedied at two different levels but with increased substantial work and added redesign.

Not a total loss, the reentry method seemed simple enough to be incorporated in other designs with its spring tension and gears resulting in a self timing unit for the release of a nose cone and parachute.

At this time, due to the excessive hours and days spent on the Chinese rocket, and the added time required for complete assembly, all work is halted until further notice.

Space1 Rocket Assembly Line

SPACE ROCKET ASSEMBLY LINE
Humanoido over at the Space1 warehouse assembly crew has developed the Space Rocket Assembly Line. This is the first known rocket assembly line in the world! It will be the first assembly line to assemble an entire fleet of new large flight established Safety Rockets for space tourism and other space travel purposes.

Now that Space1 has patterned its latest and largest massive space safety rocket, it can be injected into a new assembly line for more rapid development and assembly. An assembly line can more rapidly build new multiple rockets for a full fleet for use in 2017. 

This is the first time assembly line production crew will be used to construct rockets for space flights and space tourism. At left, a massive tank serves as the rocket body, bracketed in the horizontal tanking position on a retainer tower.

Above: Retouched photo with branding removed so as not to reveal tank sources and suppliers. The vertical tank is rolled out on a temporary tower holding bracket securing the main body cylinder for assembly of the base components.

At the base, the main rocket body will receive extremely large and massive finnage to provide added stability and control during rocket flights into the Troposphere. These are welded to the tank using a special positioning tool. The devices were perfected during the assembly and testing of the first Space1 rocket, photo published on another page. However, the shape of these devices have improved since 2014.

Overseas assembly is temporary halted and workers are on sabbaticals or working on other jobs due to the current overly hot weather spell with daytime temperatures reaching 122 degrees F.

Such hot temperatures cause typhoons to form in the Pacific Ocean. Recently two typhoons crossed the island of Taiwan. Work will resume after the retreat of typhoon Nepal when temperatures plummet to 185 degrees for a while.
