The Largest Ocean in the World
How and why did Humanoido choose to locate in the Pacific Ocean?
Humanoido relocated SPACE1, spaceports, Singularity Observatory, Skyscraper Observatory, Mission Control, and the array of scientific laboratories out in the Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean is the largest and deepest ocean in the world. It offers the greatest stability for the best sky conditions for telescope sky observing. Its stable temperatures are paramount along with the lack of a sky turbulent Jet Stream like the one that exists over North America, provides outstanding sky conditions.
One day in 1519 the great Portuguese explorer, Magellan, was sailing
across the Atlantic Ocean in search of a western sea route to the Spice
Islands via South America and discovered the Pacific Ocean, noting its
great stability and lack of turbulent waters compared to other seas.
Due to Magellan’s discovery and extensive exploration of the ocean, the
Pacific was widely known as the "Sea of Magellan." This name became
widespread, despite Magellan himself naming it "Ocean Pacifico." It was
not until the 18th century that the name "Pacifico," which later evolved
to "Pacific," became common.
