Space1 High Speed Plane

High Speed Plane
As drones are slow pokes when it comes to the speed of rockets, SPACE1 is examining taking on a new division of high speed planes to play catch up with new rocket launches within the aerodynamic framework of sky boundaries leading up to space.

High speed dynamic wireless and/or piloted planes with designs such as the Hypered Elemental One (HEO) are in the works.

The new craft division will introduce a quarry of planes to the SPACE1 Flight Dynamics Division that support rockets on their initial journey through the Troposphere. The HEO is equipped with multiple high speed forward looking cameras to examine rocket missions during their upward aerodynamic leg of the journey. As the HEO is capable of climbing and diving, along with split second maneuvering, it can cover many angles of mission exposure for analysis of flight dynamics. The HEO is expected to supplement the aircraft division which already contains around 50 drones, SPACE1 Space Planes, and Delta Wing Flyer return vehicles. With development of concurrent lunar missions in 2019 and the ramping up of Mars missions in 2020, the HEO may receive a variable delegation of developmental assignments as time progresses. The high speed vehicle HEO pilot will use reality augmentation to fly the vehicles.

Space1 Rocket Drone X

Drone X is one of over 35 drones owned by SPACE1's drone division. Drone X is a larger drone designed to attach to the outside of the rocket. Smaller drones may be ejected from the space capsule.

Drone X
In a new use for rockets and drones, Rocket X is being equipped with compartmental specialized drones.

The proverbial Drone X is a large invention, modified to stay on Rocket X during launch and deploy part way into the mission during the aerodynamic part of the journey.

Drone X can survey the rocket during the egress and gather nominal data on Rocket X performance and atmospheric conditions. Drone X can also launch aside Rocket X and continue the surveillance. Rocket X development includes many features over the previous Pioneer rocket fleet.

SPACE1 Modern Vintage Rocket

Rocket - Modern or Retro?
Retro rockets of the 1950s had a very distinguished design as seen in the illustrations.

Swept back fin aerodynamic design and a space efficient rocket body was abandoned for the more cheap easy to roll and weld straight cylinder cut.

SPACE1 recently, in 2018, revised its entire rocket fleet to one made from a mold, and it now resembles the more aerodynamically efficient retro rocket of the 1950s. Making rockets from molds allow the use of specialized materials, not just cold rolled metals that were used in the past. Use of new materials such as Carbon fiber, and the material used by SPACE1 is now possible.

The new Pioneer rocket design has a special delineation of the nose capsule compartment and the sleek swept back fins which holds a great streamlined and aerodynamic improvement during the Troposphere portion of the rocket flight mission.

The bulging belly of the rocket can hold more payload and fuel, and large viewing ports are brought back into style.

Many of these retro rocket appearances were in design only, as we've yet to see one in person until now at SPACE1. For more information, consult the links regarding Pioneer and Pioneer Heavy rockets.
