Space1 Parasitic Rocket

Parasitic SR
The Parasitic SR project uses a SPACE1 Safety Rocket that parasitically attaches to another rocket of conventional design.

The encapsulated safety rocket is designed to protect the occupants in case of a failure of the conventional rocket. The conventional rocket can blow, however SR occupants remain safe. The advantages of Parasitics is they can be cheaply attached to rockets designed for other missions. This saves money and time while introducing new levels of safety never seen before on conventional rockets. However, the Parasitic does not protect the occupants of the conventional rocket, it only protects the occupants of the Parasitic Safety Rocket. Small lightweight Parasitics could attach to long range conventional rockets for missions to the Solar System and Mars at tremendous reductions in delivery costs. The illustrations show other concept with very large parasitic craft attachments. Illustrations: Top - Hermes, bottom - Lockheed Venturestar
